The following reasons may cause the camera not to record properly:

Low battery: The camera needs to turn on the IR LEDs when working at night, which consumes more power than working during the day. If the voltage is low, it will record shorter videos or not record videos.

The camera is not programmed to Video mode.

Wrong memory card file system: The incompatibility of memory card formatting with the camera may cause the videos/pictures shot by the camera to be unable to be stored on the memory card, thereby making customers think that the camera has not been taken correctly.

Wrong settings of “Target recording time”: If the operation hour is set, the camera will only work during this time, and it will be on standby at other times.

Check if the camera has "Time Lapse" mode turned off. When the "Time Lapse" feature is enabled, the camera will automatically capture photos/videos at specified intervals and will deactivate motion detection.

Please try the following trouble shootings:

After receiving the camera, please install a set of brand-new 1.5V AA alkaline or 1.5V AA lithium batteries.

Ensure the camera is set to Video mode: The camera defaults to Photo mode when it comes out of the factory. If you want to record a video, you need to manually adjust the shooting mode (Menu > Mode > Video).

Format the memory card before first using the camera by the way: press MENU, and go to ‘Format memory cardd’ to ensure the memory card working in the right file system.

Check if the camera has been set to “Target recording time” as you expected.

Check if the camera's "Time Lapse" feature has been turned off.

Also, you can run a motion test:
After configuration, turn the power switch to the SETUP mode. After about 30s, please walk to the front of the camera wave your hand. If the blue or green light flashes, it indicates that the camera's infrared motion sensor is working properly.
